Whistler!

 Whistler, British Columbia!

A Dream riding spot for many mountain bikers.  I was very excited for the adventure of Canada and Whistler.  After driving back to California on Thursday, June 13to get a SMOG check on my truck, I was on my way to Canada and Whistler!  Friday June 14th I drove from Yreka, CA to Squamish, BC.  A long day of driving that was well worth it!

I crossed the border at 11p, which ended up being a blessing.  As there were not many people at the border, and Vancouver was mellow at that hour.

First day at the bike park.

Sunday it rained like crazy.  I rode 4 laps at the park and was drenched.  I called it a day for riding, cleaned up, and rode the Gondola up to ride the Peak to Peak Gondola.  The views were amazing and the engineering was even better!

Olympic rings at the top on the gondola.

Time to take a day off from the bike park and do some trail riding.  I drove up to Pemberton and swung in to the Pemberton Bike Co.  Cool shop.  I bought a map and was out to ride.

After my third day at the bike park and fourth in Whistler, it was time to drive to Bozeman, MT.  I chose to drive through inland BC, all the way to Golden and then down to Montana.  It was an amazingly scenic drive!

An avalanche tunnel.  Basically a roof over the highway to keep avalanches from taking out the road.

I made it to Montana, and was greeted to this view!

The plan was to hang out, and fish with my good friend Tony, who is a passionate Fly Fisher.  First, there was work to be done.  Tony needed to complete a concrete pour before he could fish.  I cant just sit by and watch a friend work.  I got right in and helped out.

Now that that is done, its time for some fishing!
